Intro

Hey everyone!

How's everyone doing? (smile, nod and eye contacts, acknowledge your audience with a warm welcome)

For those who don't know me, Hi my name is Lincoln Fili, a proud member of room 9.

And my topic I have chosen to tell you about is Exponents.

A long time ago there was a number, it was number five, keep that in mind okay.

The number five wanted more number's added to him self. But the number he chose was the number fifteen but he didn't want to look like the number fifteen. So he tried to do something else so he went to the store and brought the number 3 but he didn't know where to put it so he put at the corner of his head. He went back to home and his mother said what is that on the corner of you head and his mum kept going and said what is that number at the corner of your head he said well mother I have created something so magnificent and so beautiful. He told his mother that it was called UN exponent so a exponent is number at the top of your head the three means,  the three means it like 3 x 5 that equals fifteen. And it likes 3 fives that equals fifteen boiii. so to smart that's what his mum said your so smart five that his name but his last name is Bart James Cook instien Peter Jackion Michel jackson comet nova Jehovah pineapple strawberry. Number five said thank you. here is the real example

Exponents here is an easy example there five 5 and three 3 the five is big number 3 is small number five sits in it's place 3 small number goes on number five in the corner so that looks like this aka the coolest background ever.

So now tell me what you now about exponents.

  1. Kia ora Lincoln. I love the way you've turned a maths idea into a story. You've obviously worked hard on this. One question: doesn't your equation mean 5x5x5 instead of 5x3? Also remember to only share your first name on your blog or anywhere online.

  2. Afternoon Lincoln, yes I agree I love your story and imagination, however as Phil said 5 to the power of 3 means 5x5x5 - 125
