Kupe: family: Matiu and makaro married to Hine-te-aparangi. Te Pehi Kupe was born at Kawhia. He was the elder son of Toitoi and was descended in the senior line from Toa Rangatira, the eponymous ancestor of Ngati Toa, As a young man in 1819 he joined other Ngati Toa warriors in the musket-armed war expedition of the northern leaders Tuwhare, Patuone and Nene.where did kupe discover his first land.Like Māui before him, Kupe's arrival is a foothold in the land for Māori. His adventures took place predominantly in the south Wairarapa, Cook Strait and Northland regions. However, in some versions he travelled as far south as Arahura on the South Island's West Coast, and to the Coromandel Peninsula. He would have arrived in New Zealand waters, sailing first into the modern Wellington area. After studying Māori oral tradition, ethnologists in the 19th and early 20th centuries have estimated that Kupe would have arrived in New Zealand in the year 925. There is a statue of Kupe in railway wellington.

Howick historical village
Yesterday on 9 of March, 2020. We went to Howick Historical village and it was fun first we went to a school and it was fun they told us about stuff that happens in the eighteen fifty's. Then we learn about semaphore and brail and flag signals and we had an activity to do. Then we played with games like bowling and my favorite game was metal circle and a stick. Then we explored around the village and if a white flag was up that means there was meat. Then we went home the end. Plus there dolls every were it was creepy and here is some photos.
